State Worksite Wellness Coordinator

The target is met if the state establishes a Worksite Wellness Coordinator.

Why is this important?

Worksite wellness initiatives address the primary components of a healthy lifestyle including healthy eating, physical activity, tobacco cessation, and stress management.  These programs help employees adopt a healthier lifestyle and reduce their risk of developing chronic disease.  Worksite wellness programs also benefits the employer by reducing health care costs and absenteeism, while increasing productivity and morale.  Examples of worksite wellness programs include health risk assessments, fitness challenges, healthy food options at meetings, smoking cessation counseling, stress management programs, and environmental designs that encourage physical activity.
