A Good Idea

Description

The EPA's Fish Advisory Program is a program that offers brochures on mercury in fish and shellfish in several languages. The program also provides links to state, tribal and local fish advisories involving mercury, PCBs, chlordane, dioxins, and DDT, and has implemented an outreach effort to the U.S. medical community about fish safety.

Goal / Mission

The goal of this program is to establish a national consistency in the methods, protocols, and approaches to developing and managing noncommercial fish and wildlife consumption advisories. Fish consumption advisories are issued to warn consumers of unsafe levels of chemical contaminants in noncommercial fish and wildlife.
