This indicator shows the percent of children aged 0-17 years who experience a lot of difficulty seeing even when wearing glasses or contact lenses.
Why is this important?
Healthy vision is a vital part of everyday life for people of all ages. It affects one's ability to work, play, communicate, and interact with the world. Blindness and visual impairment early in life can be especially difficult, as this is a time when reading, schoolwork, and social activities are a large proportion of one's day. Regular, preventive eye care can detect common and often treatable vision problems. Beginning this practice at a young age reduces the likelihood of permanent damage throughout life.
